Real Estate Terms You Should Understand

1 min read

Reviewed October 2026. Listing language is marketing, not a technical inspection or guarantee.

Ask for facts

Cozy, charming, unique layout, fixer-upper, renovator's dream, needs TLC, investor's dream, natural landscaping, close to nature and upgraded kitchen can mean different things to different sellers. Ask about measurements, permits, age, condition, repairs, utilities, taxes, location and known defects.

Offer as is

An as-is offer can affect the buyer's ability to ask for repairs or cancel. Read the contract and obtain legal advice before removing conditions.

Marketing terms do not replace inspection, title review, financing or independent verification.
