Calgary Schools: IB, AP, TLC and Other Programs

Reviewed October 2026. Calgary families may consider public, Catholic, charter and private schools, plus specialized programs such as IB, AP, TLC, bilingual, French immersion, Montessori, arts, science and gifted programs.

Designated schools and programs

A home address can affect a designated school, but alternative programs may have separate eligibility, registration, transfer, lottery or capacity rules. A school list from an older year may no longer be accurate.

Verify before choosing a home

Use the current CBE Find a School tool and the current program page. Confirm boundaries, grade levels, registration dates, transportation, fees, waitlists and whether a program is offered at the time your child will attend. School rankings are not a guarantee of fit or admission.
